Description:
Job opportunity for Ophthalmology Professor doctor to a medical college in Kanchipuram.
Teaching and Academics
Deliver lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in ophthalmology to undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD/MS) students.
Supervise and mentor students during clinical postings and research projects.
Prepare and update academic curriculum in line with the guidelines of the National Medical Commission (NMC).
Conduct regular assessments, examinations, and student evaluations.
Clinical Duties
Oversee and participate in patient care, including surgeries, consultations, and procedures in the associated hospital.
Ensure students gain hands-on clinical experience under appropriate supervision.
Research and Publications
Conduct independent and collaborative research in the field of ophthalmology.
Publish research findings in reputed national and international medical journals.
Encourage and guide students and junior faculty in research initiatives.
Administrative Responsibilities
Participate in departmental and institutional meetings to contribute to policy-making and operational improvements.
Assist in accreditation processes and compliance with NMC regulations.
Take on additional responsibilities as Head of the Department (if applicable).
Qualifications and Requirements
Educational Qualifications
MD/MS in Ophthalmology from a recognized medical institution.
Additional fellowships or specialized training in ophthalmology (desirable).
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of teaching experience in a recognized medical college, including at least 5 years as an Associate Professor or equivalent.
Proven expertise in clinical practice and research.
Skills and Competencies
Strong communication and teaching skills.
Proficiency in clinical diagnostics and surgical techniques.
Ability to inspire and mentor students and junior faculty.
